S.A.R.C. Notes for September 21
Meeting was opened by Bill Higgins
Pledge of allegiance,prayer,and moment of silence were performed.
Bill shared very touching experiences from Wednesday the day of his late aunts funeral.
Old Business:
Secretary report of minutes will be read at a later date
Treasures report was read by Mark Ervine and we have $806.17 after paying AW Comm $2569.92 for repeater project.
Repeater Committees Report was presented by John McReynolds. He addressed the interference coming into the 805 machine. Tom with AW Communication will be applying a notch filter to try to eliminate the problem. The tone board and new jumper are ready to install.
We rattled off another gun and the winner was Jerry Braun. Bill is gonna contact and tell them the good news!
New business:
Taum Saulk was discussed. It is coming up September 18th. Cody will put a list on the website of who is bringing what so be sure to look out for that. The trip is weather dependent. It’s going to be at the lookout tower and we plan on arriving by 10 AM and depart by 4 PM. A butcher shop that has been getting good reviews by our members is on the way in Arcadia. They will be closed when we leave so some members are planning on stopping on the way. We are activating Parks On The Air and AA1CJ “Bee” will take the task of registering for us.
A Knucklehead Breakfast is planned at Country Bobs on October 16th at Country Bobs in St.James at 9 am.
A memorial for Jerry is planned October 9th at noon in Leslie at The Depot. This is still to be confirmed because we want Jerry’s family to join.
H.A.R.N. Is Friday September 10th. Tom,Bill,and Margaret are planning to attend. (Dave Johnson is coordinating for us). They are meeting at 7:30 Am. We are third on the list for the net to be called.
A winlink gateway project was suggested and Bill was nominated to head that. Motion was made by Karen and Mark Seconded the motion so it passed.
Motion to adjourn was made by Margaret and Bee seconded.
Extra note: We have a new member! Her name is Deb Schwalenberg. For those of you who haven’t met her, Deb is an Advanced class ham who has been to a couple of club meetings now. Last night she became the newest member of the Sullivan Amateur Radio Club. Please make her feel welcome here and when you see her and hear her on the air!
